Memorial Weekend, 1959.
submitted by G. McLean
It began to rain during Thursday night, continued Friday (a holiday) and Saturday and Sunday, non-stop, until Monday morning. There was no getting in or out of three sub-divisions. The National Guard drove Ducks down the street causing waves to wash into some homes. My neighbor, Harold, and I borrowed a canoe and toured the area. This was taken by a friend in the 3500 block of Purdue on June 1.
Where was my friend Harold supposed to be when our picture was taken ? At Tulane receiving his masters degree.
